Bord Bia has launched October Month of Farmhouse cheese as part of the 'Discover Farmhouse Cheese' campaign. The promotion is EU funded and will feature a variety of events across the country to encourage people to try and taste new and established varieties of farmhouse cheeses, as well as pick up a host of top tips from seasonality to delicious recipes.
The events, hosted by retailers, will offer tastings to the public, while Discover Farmhouse Cheese will also organise a number of farm visits. The farm visits will demonstrate cheese making first-hand from the individual milk and dairy herds to the maturing and dedication of the creators to the products. Farm visits are free but places need to be reserved at www.discoverfarmhousecheese.ie.
