Cora, the retail group owned by Belgium-based Louis Delhaize, has revealed that it will introduce the ‘Drive’ format this December for the first time at one of its hypermarkets in Romania.
The concept has been an ambition of company representatives since early 2012, and will mean customers of the Cora Lujerului hypermarket in Bucharest have the chance to order products online and pick them up later.
To pilot the format, Cora has sent out a promotional code to its newsletter subscribers, and also plans to establish an online store devoted to electronic goods, coradigital.ro, in the coming months.
The 'Drive' format is starting to take off in several European markets, most notably France.
