ABP Food Group, Dawn Meats, Ribworld, Irish Country Meats, Gallagher's Bakery and Glanbia Consumer Foods are among the Irish businesses exhibiting at this year's SIAL trade fair, which kicked off on Sunday in Paris.
More than 20 Irish exhibitors are present at the biannual trade fair, the majority of which specialize in fresh meat products. In addition, Bord Bia and the Irish Dairy Board are also exhibiting.
A total of 6,300 exhibitors are present at the event, which takes place at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte and runs until Thursday.
Yesterday saw Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney visit the event, where he met with SIAL Director Nicolas Trentesaux and Ambassador Geraldine Byrne Nason. Minister Coveney also attended a drinks reception at the Bord Bia Origin Green stand yesterday afternoon.
The event is particularly significant for Bord Bia, as it marks the two year anniversary of the 'Origin Green' programme, which was launched at SIAL in 2012.

Today, Tuesday 21st October, also sees the presentation of the World Tour By SIAL jury prize, where Fusion And Street (produced by Glanbia Consumer Foods) will be hopeful of taking home the top prize for Ireland.
