Mark Garvey has been appointed the new group financial director at Glanbia plc, succeeding Siobhán Talbot, who has taken on the role of Glanbia group managing director.
Garvey has an extensive financial background and joins the international dairy food company from Sara Lee Corporation, where he has been since 1995.
In his most recent role at Sara Lee, as executive vice president and chief financial officer, Garvey facilitated the significant decision to divide Sara Lee into two separately listed companies, DE Master Blenders and Hillshire Brands.
Liam Herlihy, group chairman, commented, “Mark brings an excellent range of skills to his new role which are very complementary to the Glanbia executive and senior management team. It is a great testament to the growth of opportunity that Glanbia offers that we can attract back to Ireland an individual of Mark’s calibre and international experience.”
