Sharon Buckley, Group Commercial Director, at Musgrave Group has been named among the winners of the Ireland’s Most Powerful Women: Top 25 Awards for 2013, organised by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) and HSBC Ireland.
Buckley was one of ten women that received the HSBC Corporate Executives Award, which 'identified ten women who hold the most senior positions in Ireland’s largest companies by annual turnover or Ireland’s largest companies by number of employees'.
“WXN has noted a change in the landscape of female leadership in Ireland since we launched here in 2008,” said Pamela Jeffery, WXN founder. “More CEO-level women have emerged, including Siobhan Talbot as chief executive at Glanbia, Anne O’Leary as chief Executive at Vodafone Ireland and our own advisory board member, Ellvena Graham becoming head of Ulster Bank, Northern Ireland.
Jeffrey added that these awards not only "recognise their achievements, but also form a basis of a unique and targeted alumni where recipients build and benefit from new networks."
Other award winners at the event included Maeve Carton, Finance and Board Director, CRH, Cathriona Hallahan, Managing Director, Microsoft Ireland, Ann Keenan, Head of Group Human Resources, DCC plc and there was a posthumous award for author Maeve Binchy.
