Nicholas Pettersson has been named president of the newly-reorganised Swedish food retailer Axfood.
Pettersson, who has been Director of Axfood Närlivs since 2009, will assume the position at the start of 2014 and take on overall responsibility for developing Axfood’s operational and strategic logistics processes.
As part of its reorganisation, the company will coordinate its warehouse and transport operations, as well as the purchasing division, into a single unit.
Formed in 2000 via a merger between Swedish grocery store chains Hemköp, D&D Dagligvaror, Spar Sverige and Spar Inn Snabbgross, Axfood’s retail operations are carried out through the wholly owned Willys, Hemköp and PrisXtra chains.
