The 2013 Bord Bia Food & Drink Awards awarded nine Irish companies across seven categories last night as well as two special awards for Online Champion - James Whelan Butchers and Business Referral - ABP Ireland.
The winners included Glenmar Shellfish (Export), Paganini for Fitfuel (Innovation), Britvic Ireland for MiWadi (Success at Home), Dawn Meats (Sustainability), Keelings (Branding), Irish Atlantic Seafood (Entrepreneurial) and Kerry Foods for Cheestrings in Germany (Consumer Insight & Innovation).
The event was opened by the Minister for Agriculture, Food & the Marine, Simon Coveney TD who said, “As ever with the food and drink industry, we are here to celebrate exceptional resilience and performance at the ‘Oscars’ of the sector. Individual food and drink companies, who are being recognised this evening, can take pride in their achievements in growth, in new business and even deeper insight into buyer needs and consumer trends.”
Over 250 industry representatives gathered for the event including the CEOs from some of Ireland’s leading food and drink companies such as Kerry, Glanbia, Irish Distillers, ABP, Dawn Meats and Kepak. The event was held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.
