Recycling funding firm Repak has announced it will not be increasing the price of membership fees in 2014. Despite the levels of recycling activity steadily rising, the cost of a Repak membership has remained the same since 2008.
Sensible cost management has been a key factor in maintaining membership costs for the sixth year running, according to Repak’s Membership Manager Declan Martin, who states that Repak fees in Ireland are at the “lower end” of the EU scale.
Repak is a not-for-profit organisation and is therefore required to break even, and the company has voiced concerns over producers failing to comply as it places strain on Repak’s capacity to fund recycling.
