UB Snackfoods Ireland Limited, the Irish sales and marketing subsidiary of United Biscuits (UK) Limited, posted a £106k (€123k) loss in the year to 31 December 2012, according to accounts just filed.
However, this is an improvement on its 2011 performance, when the company posted a £383k (€456k) loss.
The company posted a turnover of £1.257 million in the period, broadly in line with its 2011 performance (£1.264 million). Distribution, selling and marketing costs were also reduced, to £1.364 million, down from £1.54 million.
The directors said that the company's sales are "dependant on the continued success of snackfood products of United Biscuits (UK) Ltd," adding that a "downturn in the popularity of those products would adversely impact the turnover of the company."
