Ma Kai, Vice Premier of The People's Republic of China, led a delegation of 20 Chinese officials on a tour of the Keeings headquarters in north Dublin earlier today. The visit follows the fruit supplier's recent entry into the Chinese market with its software system, Keelings Solutions.
Keelings Solutions was developed as a produce-specific ERP solution, and has already been deployed by multiple European produce distributors as well as the largest fresh produce supplier in China.
Mr Kai, who is responsible for China's economic policy and investment, is visiting Ireland because of the strong trading relationship build up between Ireland and China over the past few years and to see latest developments in the fields of bioprocessing, food, and digital technology.
"We developed this ERP end-to-end business management tool to deal with the complexities of fresh fruit and vegetable distribution," said Caroline Keeling, CEO of Keelings. "The information we get from the system is live and actionable and has hugely contributed to the efficiencies that make Keelings such a competitive player in the international fresh produce market.
"In terms of growth opportunities for Keelings Solutions, the Chinese market has huge potential, which we've started to develop. We've been working on the ground in China for the last 2 years and have identified major opportunities and are making real progress. I think Ireland is now being recognised as a world class provider of high tech services".
